Main tasks: development of a set of doctrinal, conceptual, methodological, instructional proposals and recommendations for a coherent understanding of the system of theoretical and legal foundations for the formation and development of the information society in Ukraine; definition of the basic legal problems of the development of the information society in our country and formation of ways of their solution in the context of protecting the rights and interests of people, society and the state in the information sphere; development of proposals for optimizing the functions of the state and its authorities, civil society institutions in the information sphere; scientific substantiation of the legal basis for the functioning of the information infrastructure and carrying out the information activities in the context of the development of the information society; providing proposals to the current legislation and other regulatory legal acts of Ukraine in the information sphere, as well as recommendations for the improvement of legislative acts regulating the social relations that undergo changes under the influence of the formation and development of the information society. A report on the results of the academic research work was considered at a meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Resolution № 104/2 dated 24 November, 2017.
