Khmelnitsky state university in Cherkasy popup.description2 The aim of the project is to process the models of creating the images of Ukraine's neighbours - Poland and Belarus, which geopolitical state has been determining during centuries the mutual vision about each other, about the common past, the history of which has not always been accepted in the same way. Very often it had a conflict connotation, which was reflected in the corresponding national discourses. The former ones have been formed under the influence of the corresponding historical narrative from one side and national myths from the other side. The subject of the project is the reconstruction of the images of Ukrainian, Polish and Belarusian peoples (nations, states), the interpretational models of the creation of the mentioned images and the format of their scientific reflection, the interpretation by the educators. Based on their real historical experience, the tasks formed in the conditions of modern globalization, integration, increase of international tension, the major part of project's attention is paid to the conflict discourses about the past and the models of their reconciliation. The tasks of the project consist in methodological substantiating the process of investigating the images of the Central European peoples in regards to their closest neighbours and performing the verification of the mentioned scientific hypothesis (confirm/deny) during the analysis of the particular precedents of creating, spreading, using, imposing, implementing "conflict" images into more complex social and psychological constructs and eventually national ideologies, myths, national consciousness, public historical memory.
