As examples, selective properties of two cylindrical corrugated cavities for 0.4-THz second-harmonic gyrotron are investigated. It is shown that in the first cavity, which features increased length and uniform corrugations, ohmic losses (and oscillation thresholds) of the fundamental parasitic modes can be increased several times in comparison with those for operating mode. For the second cavity of reduced length, we determine optimal longitudinal distribution and form of corrugations, which provide more than 30-fold decrease in diffractive losses (and oscillation threshold) for the operating mode with respect to analogous values for the fundamental parasitic modes.
