Subject of research - psychological and pedagogical peculiarities and specifics of training of a policeman to the application of measures of physical influence. The purpose of the study is to study and analyze the current state of affairs, develop new or improve existing forms, methods and means of forming the appropriate level of professional psychological preparedness and readiness of the policeman to apply physical activity measures, as well as suggest certain ways (tools) for their optimization. Research methods: theoretical analysis of the problem on the basis of the study of historical, philosophical, normative, special, departmental, applied and psychological and pedagogical literature, scientific developments on the theory and methods of teaching and education in order to generalize theoretical issues regarding the psychological and pedagogical peculiarities and specifics of the training of the police before application of measures of physical influence; analysis of departmental normative and methodological documents, archival materials, anonymous poll of employees of territorial bodies of the National Police of Ukraine, generalization of the best practices of the practical work of the most qualified teachers, instructors-methodologists, inspectors of professional training, as well as psychological and pedagogical supervision of the organization of the educational process in order to identify and determine the state of the problem under investigation. Obtained results: a methodological manual is prepared which deals with general features and specificity of training of police officers, separate historical, psychological, pedagogical, theoretical and practical aspects of the formation of general and special physical preparedness, as well as special author's views, thoughts, achievements, schemes, advice and recommendations aimed at improving the level of professional psychological readiness of the police to the successful application of physical measures impact.
