To formulate recommendations for organizing combustion processes in a boat type boiling layer. Numerical studies of heat and mass transfer processes in a stream with solid inclusions have been carried out. The research was conducted using a numerical model developed to calculate the process of burning straw pellets in ascending air flow. The model involves the consistent flow of moisture evaporation, pyrolysis of biomass, the release of biomass of volatile gaseous substances, and their combustion in ascending air flow. Calculation schemes for heat transfer and combustion of solid particles of biofuels in the air flow have been constructed. According to the results of the research, a thermophysical model of aerodynamic and heat-mass-transfer processes in an ascending gas stream with solid fuel particles and a model of combustion of vegetable granules in a fluidized bed were created. The fields of velocities and temperatures of the gas flow in the prismatic channel, in which the combustion of vegetable granules occurs, is obtained. The influence of the rate distribution in the gas flow on the formation of the temperature field in the channel is determined. Distributions of the channel height are averaged over its cross-section of temperatures and concentrations of gaseous substances formed as a result of pyrolysis of plant raw materials and combustion of volatiles and carbon residue. The processes of combustion of single pellets of biofuel from straw and wood are investigated. Dependence of the temperature inside the granules in the processes of their combustion is constructed. Experimental investigations of combustion processes of biofuel pellets in the bulk layer in a pellet burner connected to a household water-heating boiler have been carried out. Depending on the time of temperature in the firebox of the boiler under different modes of feeding pellet fuel from the hopper, it was found. Using the gas analyzer, the chemical composition of the flue gases produced by combustion of biofuel pellets is investigated. The generalization of the research results and the formulation of recommendations for the organization of aerodynamics and combustion processes in boilers of the boiling layer as well as in pellet burners of household water-heating boilers have been formulated.
