Subject matter of research: paradigmatic strategies of sociological conceptualization of social tension and systemic models of empirical indicators of identification of its state. Goal of research: development of theoretical and methodological foundations of identification of a system of empirical indicators of methodic of monitoring of the state and differences of social tension in Ukrainian regions. Methods of research: methodological basis of the research is a strategy of implementation of integral theoretical synthesis aimed at clarifying the essential features of the concept of social tension, as well as at development of the causal-empirical model of social tension; during identification of the specific areas of research development of systemic model of indicators of social tension in the practice of the current empirical sociological research general scientific methods are used: analysis, induction, deduction, typology, modeling, as well as specialized techniques of systemic and structural-functional analysis. The Research Project revealed theoretical and methodological potential of leading paradigmatic strategies of conceptualization of social tension as a phenomenon and a process of social life in the world and Ukrainian sociology which is a fundamental premise of identification of the system of empirical indicators. Theoretical and methodological foundations of a system approach to build a conceptual model of social tension are defined. The analysis of areas of research development of systemic model of 22 empirical indicators of social tension in the practice of the current empirical sociological research has been performed.
