The purpose of the work is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the national legislation on the protection of the rights of the child, to determine its compliance with the provisions of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and to develop proposals for its improvement, as well as to assess the level of awareness of children in relation to the norms of the Convention. The methodological basis of the study is the provisions of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, its optional protocols and other international instruments in the field of child rights protection, as well as domestic normative acts aimed at ensuring the realization of the rights of the child in Ukraine, expert assessments and questionnaires for the researcher question. The research uses the following general scientific and special methods: content analysis, synthesis, questionnaires, comparisons, systematic approach, expert evaluation, comparison, etc. The practical value of the results obtained is the possibility of their use when amending existing legislation on the protection of the rights of the child and the development of appropriate measures in making decisions on the observance of the rights of the child in Ukraine (taking into account the provisions of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child). Scope of implementation. The results of the study can be used to improve and optimize the legal framework for the rights of the child, harmonize the national legislation in accordance with the international obligations of Ukraine, as well as to prepare the materials for the next report of Ukraine on the implementation by the State of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
