The spectral properties of the planar (two-dimensional) metamaterial in the microwave range are theoretically investigated. The efficient control of the transmission spectra in planar wire metamaterials by adjusting the dimensions of a two-dimensional unit cell is theoretically demonstrated. A numerical simulation of the magneto-static characteristics of magnetic elements presented as a flat disk with a defect is performed.
