Methods of research - probe studies and multichannel analyzers of functions of the distribution of charged particles by energies.The results of experimental studies of ignition conditions of non-independent vacuum arc discharges in pure vapors of nickel and in pure tantalum pairs are given in the work. As a result of these studies, the conditions for obtaining sufficient vapor pressure levels for evaporating working material and conditions for ignition and stable combustion of non-independent arc discharges in pairs of each material were determined. Voltage-ampere characteristics of discharges were investigated and the values of the required minimum discharge power were set, provided that they were stably burned. The values of the potentials of an isolated electric probe located on the center of the created plasma flows and other characteristics are also established.The received data allowed in accordance with the work plans to purposefully modernize the anode and cathode nodes of the laboratory sample of the discharge device, to determine the relevant requirements for power supplies and their installation.
