The purpose of the paper is to analyze literary and patent sources on the synthesis, properties and use of SiC micro and nano fibers, and the study of the influence of the nature of the substrate on the peculiarities of the synthesis of micro and nanofiber SiC and the production of their prototype samples. Methods of investigation - chemical gas-phase deposition, raster and translucent electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis. In this paper, an analysis of literary and patent sources on the issues of synthesis, properties and application of SiC micro and nanofibers. Thermodynamic investigations of the intermediate stages of the reaction of SiC synthesis and the mechanism of silicon carbide deposition have been determined. The SiC micro and nano fibers on high-porous substrates, such as pinot nickel, carbon and silica fabric, have been synthesized by chemical gas-phase separation method.
