The object of research is thermoelectric materials based on the Zn-Cd-Sb system. The goal of the work is the development of physical models and computer methods for optimizing thermoelectric materials based on Zn-Cd-Sb. Also, the goal of the work includes the development of physical models and a description of the phenomena of heat and electricity transfer in Zn-Cd-Sb-based powder thermoelectric materials taking into account the classical dimensional effects. To achieve the goal, nonequilibrium statistical physics methods were used to find the kinetic coefficients of single-crystal and powder thermoelectric materials, taking into account the mechanisms of scattering of charge carriers and phonons inherent in a single crystal, as well as their scattering at dust grain boundaries. Optimum concentrations of charge carriers, and, consequently, singly charged dopants in materials based on Zn-Cd-Sb for both thermocouple and anisotropic thermoelements have been determined. The models of chemical bonding in the materials of the Zn-Cd-Sb system have been developed, which can later be used to improve the technology for obtaining these materials. An advanced zone melting unit is proposed that will allow to obtain single crystals of thermoelectric materials of the Zn-Cd-Sb system of higher quality and with lower energy costs. A method of zone melting is proposed, which will improve the quality of the single crystals obtained. A thermocouple thermoelement design is proposed, the introduction of which will reduce the cost of tellurium by half.
