The state of the nervous system and the psyche is 155 irradiated intrauterine as a result of the Chernobyl accident and 147 unexposed in utero persons. The aim of the work is to experimentally and clinically determine the effects of prenatal irradiation of I-131 on neurogenesis and the development of cognitive and emotional-behavioral disorders. Methods of research: in the experiment - behavioral, immunoenzymatic, biochemical, morphological, statistical. Design and methods of clinical research - blinded transverse cohort study with parallel external and internal controls; clinical neuropsychiatric, neuro-and psychometric, neuropsychological, neurophysiological, statistical, dosimetric. The comparative estimation of experimental and clinical radio-neurobiological work confirms the radiolabelance of the central nervous system to the action of small doses of ionizing radiation, in particular iodine-131. Our clinical and experimental studies of intrauterine irradiation in the radioactive contaminated areas as a result of the Chernobyl accident, including the Chernobyl exclusion zone, in comparison with the doses of internal radiation of iodine-131 in the experiment convincingly testify to the presence of cognitive deficits and emotional and behavioral disorders.  The concept of mechanisms for the formation of prenatal irradiation effects is incorporated with I-131 and recommendations on innovative methods of rehabilitation of patients with traumatic CNS lesions. In the prenatally exposed individuals, a specific neurocognitive and emotional-behavioral deficit is confirmed, which consists in preserving the intellectual development disharmony revealed at the expense of the relative reduction of verbal intelligence; somatoform, anxiety and depressive disorders. Dose-dependent decreased power of theta-band kEEG, indicating the radiation damage of the hippocampus.
