Research purpose – defining the basic theoretical grounds for the functioning of archival institutions founded by natural and / or legal entities of the private law, and developing the methodology to organize their work. Research methods – heuristic, comparative, analysis, generalization, systematization. Due to the research work results, the guidelines “Organization archival institutions work founded by natural and / or legal persons of the private law” were developed. The document outlines the main principles for the functioning of private archival institutions, and defines the methodology for organizing their work. In particular, it defines the legal and general organizational aspects of archives activities; regulates the work of a private archival institution on compiling, organization and usage of documents, as well as their work with electronic documents; establishes normative-methodical and organizational issues on valuation expertise of documents in private archives. Research results are to be implemented by introducing the developed methodological document into the practice of private archives work.
