Research purpose: development the current system of biosecurity and prevention of biodamage of archival repositories and documents of state archives, creation of the monitoring system for documents preservation at the National Archival Holdings. Research methods: common microbiological and entomological methods, microscopy methods, analysis and synthesis. In the course of the research, was studied the current microbiological and entomological state of archival repositories and documents at a number of state archives. Appropriate acts were compiled and recommendations were given for improving the microbiological and entomological condition of archival repositories; for the first time, the microbiological and entomological state of a number of archives and archival documents was monitored. The archival institutions were provided with the most simple recommendations that they can do on their own, contribute to a significant reduction of the harmful influence of destructive biological factors on the state of preservation of archival documents. The results of the research can be used in practical, research and methodological activities of state archival institutions of Ukraine, institutions of the NAS of Ukraine, profile departments of higher educational institutions. The conducted research has a methodological and practical value and can be continued in the form of further research aimed at the development and implementation of microbiological and entomological control systems on the state of preservation of archival documents, as well as in the development of analytical and guidance materials for state archival institutions of Ukraine. The results obtained during the study create a practical basis for ensuring the proper conditions for the storage of archival documents in the state archives of Ukraine.
