Research purpose – to set scientifically grounded matters (criteria) to suspend archival institutions activity due to the legal framework for archival institutions activity in Ukraine, and ordering the suspension procedure. Research methods – scientific analysis and synthesis, hypothetical-deductive, dialectical, structural analysis, formal-logical. In some cases, a modeling method was used to formulate proposals for the improvement of current standards for suspension. The research outlined the contemporary ways to ensure the safety of the NAH documents as well as the current legislation of Ukraine regarding the law grounds to carry out archival institutions suspension. Research results scientifically grounded criteria for archival institutions suspension and determined the suspension procedure. At the same time, as defined, the procedure for legal entity suspension is not a matter to any type of the law. Due to the research results, was drafted the Procedure for Suspension of the Archival Institutions not Ensuring the Safety of the NAH Documents. The Procedure is to be implemented being approved by the Order of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, whose action will be extended to archival institutions, regardless of their ownership, carrying out the storage of the NAH documents. The research scientifically substantiated the criteria for suspension of archival institutions not ensuring the NAH documents safety. It will force archival administrations to keep to regulatory norms regarding the NAH documents storage as well as ensuring the guaranteed preservation of the NAH documents as a the national cultural heritage.
