The purpose of the study is to analyse the terminology of the current legal and regulatory framework in records management and archival affairs in order to revise the National Standard of Ukraine “Records Management and Archival Affairs. Terms and Definitions Notions” (DSTU 2732: 2004) and the preparation of its new edition. Research methods– a set of interrelated general scientific principles, approaches, general-scientific and special-scientific methods, basic principles and methods of document studies, archival studies and a number of humanities. As a result of the research work, the draft of the new edition of DSTU 2732: 20__ was first developed, which should be one of the normative documents of the national standards complex of Ukraine and normative documents reflecting in its content the modern vocabulary for records management and archival affairs. The developed terminology standard should establish unambiguously formulated terms and definitions of the notions for records management and archival affairs.
