The purpose of the work is to create a methodology and conceptual approaches to highly productive, economical and environmentally safe technologies for the lignite mining by the surface mining method in the conditions of cone of influence. Research methods: analytical estimation of resources of lignite deposits, geological and engineering-hydraulic analysis, system and technical, economic substantiation of indices of extractive and overburden works. Explored geological and engineering technical features of lignite deposits in Ukraine. Their geological constructions, coal-bearing and quality of coal, general reserves and industrial value are established. Parameters of benches and work platforms, which allow to reduce current volumes of rock removal and transfer its maximum values to the final stage of mining are grounded. The rational complexes of mining equipment are developed based on the criteria of power, productivity and energy intensity, taking into account the various freight flows of the displacement of the rock mass in mines and on the surface. Recommendations to design mining of Novo-Dmitrovsky lignite deposit are issued. Based on the explored deposits of the North-West area of Donbass, it is advisable to create a single coal mining complex for the processing of lignite and secondary minerals, which will be used as the main material by the factories of building materials and constructions, enterprises of the chemical and metallurgical industry.
