In the reporting period the overwhelming attention was focused on the study of the calix[4]arene chalcone amide effects on selected properties of myometrial mitochondria. It was demonstrated that calix[4]arenes, with 2 - 4 chalcone amide groups in their structure hyperpolarize myometrium mitochondria membranes. At the same time, calix[4]arene with one chalcone amide group did not influence the mitochondria membrane potential. Short time (5-10 min) incubation of the myometrial mitochondria in the presence of calix[4]arene chalcone amides (at 10 ?M concentration) resulted in increase of the ionized Ca concentration in the mitochondria matrix.
