As a result, the luminescent Ag2S quantum dots were synthesized. It was found that absorption maxima corresponded to the wavelengths at 315 nm and 470 nm for produced semiconductor nanoparticles. Absorption spectra are typical for Ag2S.quantum dots. In addition, morphological analysis of synthesized quantum dots was carried out using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The results of electron microscopy confirm the presence of semiconductor nanoparticles of silver sulfide in tested samples, they have a homogeneous, spherical morphology, do not have any surface defects and have a diameter in the range of 20 - 25 nm. Notable antibacterial activity is observed for the synthesized by biological method Ag2S nanoparticles. A special feature of Ag2S quantum dots at a concentration of 3 mg/mL is an influence on mitosis. Some mitotic disorders have been identified at the meta- and aphase stage, that generally indicates the antimitotic effects of silver sulfide nanoparticles. It has also been established that the Ag2S quantum dots obtained from biological synthesis do not exhibit pronounced cytotoxic effects on human B- and T-lymphocytes.
