The current trends in the development of digital radio-relay communication systems are shown. These trends consist in radio-relay communication systems capacity increasing in conditions of limited radio frequency resource. A comparative characteristic of the known methods for multiple access to a radio frequency resource in microwave links such as FDMA, TDMA, PDMA, multiple access with code division multiplexing (CDMA), space division multiple access by angular coordinates (SDMA) are presented. Рracticability of application of radio signals spatial selection method by the electromagnetic wave phase front shape (curvature) as a new method of radio frequency resource reusing, that is, multiple access with communication channels spatial separation in terms of the electromagnetic wave phase front shape in digital radio-relay communication systems is theoretically grounded. A technical variant of the single-interval duplex digital microwave relay link structural scheme that implements multiple access with spatial separation of communication channels based on the electromagnetic wave phase front curvature is proposed. A theoretical analysis of the amplitude-phase distribution of the signal in the receiving radio relay station antenna system which is formed due to the interference of electromagnetic waves emitted by the transmitting radio relay station antenna system are shown. This allows to determine the conditions and configuration of the radio relay line in which the electromagnetic waves phase fronts differentiate the shape (curvature) each other in the propagation medium between the transmitting and receiving radio relay stations. The statistical synthesis of the optimal algorithm for radio signals spatial selection in accordance with the shape of the electromagnetic wave phase front for the receiving path of a digital radio relay station beamforming circuit is performed. It allows to separate each other different subscribers radio signals which use the same radio frequency resource of the radio relay line. The theoretical effectiveness coefficients of application of the signals spatial selection developed algorithm by curvature of the electromagnetic wave phase front in the beamforming circuit of the receiving path of a digital radio relay station antenna system are calculated. An experimental testbed of a simplex single-interval radio relay link of the 10.56 GHz band was constructed. This testbed has signals spatial processing blocks in a transmitting radio relay station assigned for electromagnetic waves forming from two DVB-C standard signal sources with the same carrier frequency and polarization and having a different phase front curvature. Also it has blocks of spatial signal processing in the receiving radio relay station for spatial selection of these radio signals from each other by electromagnetic wave phase front curvature. Assisted this testbed in the laboratory conditions, possibility of spatial selection of two DVB-C television broadcasting signals with same carrier frequency and wave polarization by curvature of its electromagnetic waves phase front experimentally confirmed. Also, noise suppression coefficient and signal-of-interest attenuation coefficient of the each of the 2 channels of the receiving radio relay station are measured. The ways of deployment of spatial signals processing technology by curvature of its electromangetic waves phase fronts into operating and new of radio relay communication lines are shown.
