Danilevsky Institute for Endocrine Pathology Problems National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine" popup.description2 The object of the study is experimental animals of different ages, obtained from intact female rats of the Wistar and female populations, who reproduced the situation of passive smoking during a pregnancy against a background of reduced nutrition. A separate group consisted of descendants of experimental females who received a new pharmaceutical composition during pregnancy. The purpose of the work is to establish a causal relationship between the violation of the conditions of intrauterine development of the fetus due to passive smoking and reduced nutrition of mothers during pregnancy and the appearance in adults of structural and functional changes in the thyroid gland of offspring that make up the pathogenetic basis of thyreopathies and the displacement of metabolic-energy processes in comorbid endocrine diseases; to substantiate opportunities and develop approaches (by creating a new pharmaceutical composition) to prevent gestational thyroid disease. Pathophysiological, histological, immune-histochemical, immuno-enzymatic, morphometric, physico-chemical, pharmtechnological, and statistical methods were used in the work. The equipment used: scales and weights of different grade of precision, centrifuges, thermostats, microtomes, pH meter, stopwatch, light microscope "Primo Star" with Canon G10 camera. New experimental data have been established on the effects of such negative environmental factors as passive smoking and reduced caloric content of pregnant women on the state of the fetoplacental complex, somatic fetal development, the viability of offspring after birth, the dynamics of their somato-sexual development, structural and functional features thyroid gland in these offspring at different stages of postnatal ontogenesis. An important result of the study is the creation of a new pharmaceutical composition with a protective effect on the fetoplacental complex in mothers exposed to smoking and reduced nutrition. The positive results obtained in the study of somato-genital development and the structural and functional state of the thyroid gland of offsprings of different ages, whose mothers during gestation were subject to the influence of negative factors with the properties of endocrine disruptors, and simultaneously received the proposed pharmaceutical composition. The methods for obtaining tablet masses were evaluated, their pharmaco-technological tests were carried out, the most acceptable technologies were selected, according to which the masses for tableting were developed for further analytical and biological studies.
