The aim of the work is to develop the method of directed synthesis of anodic materials for contolling the selectivity of advanced oxidation of toxic aromatic substances and the method of electrochemical modification of the anodic materials surface for controlling the electrocatalytic activity of advanced oxidation processes. Methods of investigation – scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and microanalysis. A method for directed synthesis of anode materials by introduction of ion additives to both the hydrated and the crystalline oxide zone that alter the coordination and bond strength of the oxygen-containing particles on the electrode surface, which allows to control the selectivity of the advanced oxidation of aromatic compounds and the method of electrochemical modification of the surface of anode materials have been developed and it was shown that the modification of lead dioxide by ion additives leads to differences in the surface morphology, the growth of beta-phase in the coating, which in turn affects the electrocatalytic activity in the processes involved.
