The purpose of the work is to develop a method of protection against corrosion of a number of structural steels in low-temperature ionic liquids. Methods of research - voltammetry, potentiometry, gravimetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, optical microscopy, viscometry, pykometric method, titerometric method, Raman spectroscopy. It was shown that corrosion of low carbon steel in Ethaline and Reline solvents occurs with oxygen depolarization and is accelerated due to the high content of anions chloride in the studied low temperature eutectic solvents (DES). It has been established that the decomposition rate of the depolarizer to the surface of rotating samples is determined by the rate of steel corrosion in Ethaline and Reline, which is primarily dependent on the physical and chemical properties of solvents, which are strongly influenced by temperature and water content. It was found that Ethaline solvent is more corrosively aggressive in relation to steel under conditions of water content of 0 to 50 vol. %, when increasing the amount of water in the DES, more corrosion activity is shown by Reline. The method of protection against corrosion of a number of structural steels in low temperature ionic liquids is proposed.
