We have showed that biodegradable polyuretan osteoplastic materials generated as a cooperative effort with Gdansk Polytechnical Univarsity, Gdansk, Poland are non-toxic and do not inhibit early stages and stimulate late osteoblast differentiation of mesenchymal precursor cells. Our data will provide an opportunity to select of most effective variants of polyuretan-based biodegradable osteoplastic materials with incorporated recombinant BMP preparations, primarily BMP2/7 heretodimers, aiming to enhance their osteoinductive properties and to evaluate perpectives for their optimization with the use of antiinflammatory 4-tiazolidone derivatives. Such data will be an important contribution to both deeper understanding of basic molecular mechanisms in BMP signalling and practical use in translational biomedicine amd medical practice.
