The subject of the research is the problems of creation and functioning of an effective system of social protection of the population in modern Ukraine and ways of their solution. The method of investigation is descriptive, systematic, analysis, historical. The social protection of youth as a part of the system of social protection of the population in Ukraine is investigated. The main directions of social work with single citizens in the centers of social services are analyzed. The problem of realization of social and economic rights of internally displaced persons in Ukraine is investigated. The multidisciplinary approach to solving the problems of single elderly people in territorial centers of social protection is analyzed. Social audit is investigated as an innovative mechanism for increasing the effectiveness of social protection in Ukraine. The social protection of the rural population in a market economy has been analyzed. The legislative aspect of the social protection of orphans in Ukraine is studied. Socio-psychological methods for diagnosing personal qualities of employees of social protection services are analyzed. The research of psychological aspects of social protection of orphans and children deprived of parental care in educational institutions of I-II level of accreditation is carried out. The results of scientific research on the problems of social protection of the population and ways to solve them are used in reading the academic disciplines "Political Science", "Sociology", "Modern Problems of Society", "Theory of Social Work", "Social Partnership", taught to students specialties 6.130102, 231 - Social work ", in dissertation research and scientific publications.
