The aim of the study was to assess the antimicrobial properties of aminoalcohols with adamantyl or N-alkylaryl radicals against biofilms and their prospects for the development of antimicrobial agents for the treatment of wounds. The most active compounds (AM-166, KVM-97, KVM-194) with wide range of action against biofilms, formed by clinical strains of bacteria, fungi and microbial associations, were identified. The activity of these compounds was comparable, if not superior, to that of the officinal antimicrobials at 5.0 MIC. It was found that drugs of other pharmacological groups could increase the antibiofilm activity of the compounds and antimicrobial drugs, the most pronounced effect on test strains was observed in ibuprofen and diclofenac. For further development the AM-166 compound was selected, as it demonstrated the pronounced antimicrobial activity against planktonic and biofilm forms of microorganisms, including multi-drug resistant strains. It was shown that the compound reduced the adhesive properties of bacteria and fungi, inhibited the formation of growth tubes by yeasts, i.e. it could prevent the attachment and invasion of microorganisms at the site of infection. The developed liquid dosage form of AM-166 (Adasept solution) possessed a specific antiseptic effect on bacteria and fungi, the effect was maintained for (5 - 30) min. Adasept prevented wound infections and reduced microbial insemination of wounds in vivo, the duration of the antimicrobial effect exceeded the effect of chlorhexidine.
