The object of research - enterprises of industrial complex of national economy, in particular, metallurgical and machine-building enterprises of South-Eastern region of Ukraine. The purpose of the work is development and justification of tools (models and mechanisms) for ensuring the strategic development of industrial enterprises. Research methods - scientific abstraction, system, graphical and comparative analysis, comparison and grouping, methods of statistical data processing, expert evaluations, economic and mathematical modeling, correlation- regression analysis. The conceptual approaches to the mechanism of strategic management of enterprise development in a competitive environment have been offered; the strategic model of innovative development of industrial enterprises has been developed; the effect of management decisions on the strategic position of the industrial enterprise has been revealed; cost control mechanisms for enterprises have been improved; the technique for motivating the personnel of industrial enterprises has been proposed; the approaches to the creation of strategic alliances in various spheres of enterprise activity have been explored; new approaches for processing industrial waste have been proposed; the mechanisms for managing the infrastructure of transport enterprises have been improved. The results of research have been implemented in the management decision-making systems at the metallurgical (PJSC "Ilych Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol", PJSC "Azovstal Iron and Steel Works") and other enterprises in Donetsk region. - Novelty - developments meet international standards and are the new proposals from the scientific point of view. - Efficiency of implementation - the proposed developments are effective.
