The purpose of the work is to improve the quality of metal products due to doping, surface and volume treatments, and determination of adhesion properties of polymeric coatings. Research methods - analytical calculations, dilatometric method, macro- and microscopic analyzes, X-ray phase analysis, tests of mechanical and operational properties. In the first section due to the non-traditional modes of thermal treatment, as well as chemical heat treatment significantly increased wear resistance of die-cast steels. It has been established that the presence in the structure of residual austenite steels, along with martensite and carbides, positively affects the abrasive durability. It is recommended at one of the plants to replace the steel DI-42 with 0,65 % C, 2 % Cr, ? 1% Mo, V or 12 % Cr, ? 1% Mo, V in the manufacture of plates of the moulder. In the second section, for the first time, the method of dilatometric method for the analysis of the structural state and transformations occurring during heating in the spring steel, which was subject to Q-n-P treatment, was used for the first time. It has been established that the Q-n-P treatment results in an increase in the proportion of residual austenite in steel with 0,6 % C, ? 1% Cr, V steel compared with the quenching. To obtain a high amount of residual austenite, the temperature "Q" should be not less than 160 °С, and the temperature "Р" - not lower than 260 °С. When choosing a treatment mode, it should be taken into account that, as the temperature "Q" decreases, the duration of the "Partitioning" stage is reduced, which is necessary to achieve the maximum number of residual austenite. In the third section, the influence of the temperature parameters of stamping and subsequent heat treatment on the properties of steel of the strength category S460 were investigated. It is established that the points of view of mechanical properties the optimal temperature of normalization is 930-950 °С. In order to maintain the strength properties, the recommended temperature of release of the entire welded construction should not exceed 530-560 °C. But for the removal of tensions in the boilers of the tanks, the temperature of the holiday can be raised to 580-600 °C. In the fourth section, the following properties of the polystyrene coating, such as adhesion, abrasion resistance, hardness, coating strength, oil and water resistance, were studied. The highest complex of properties possesses the investigated material from 30 % polystyrene in turpentine; it can serve as a substitute for an existing protective polymeric coating. In the fifth section, steel with 0,12 % C, 2 % Cr, 1 % Mo, 4 % Ni, or 0,18 % C, 2 % Cr, 1 % Mo, 4 % Ni are offered for the manufacture of complex configuration shaft gears, gear wheels and other critical heavy loaded parts working at high speeds and shock loads. In this work the temperatures of quenching and tempering on gradient changes in the microstructure of the cemented layer, microhardness and wear resistance of the coatings were studied.
