The object of the research is the calendar ceremonialism of Middle Polissia in the period of 50s-80s of the 20th century: peculiarities of their structure, functions, symbolics, semantics and terminology. The objective of this research is the preparation of methodological and factual basis for the ATCMP. The methodological bases of the research are the principles of historicism and consistency in studying traditional folk culture that resulted in the interdependent use of the research methods complex: comparative-ethnographic, structural, typological and cartographical methods. The field ethnographic researches based on the interviews, as well as the comparative and structural-functional analysis of the collected material had also become the methods of the research. Based on the generalization of previous experience in traditional spiritual culture map-making, the methodological (structural-semantic, methodological-areographic) bases of mapping, which take into account specific multi-functionality of ritual phenomena and territorial variation of their components (actional, attributive, locus, etc) were developed. For the first time, the network of field research covers the entire territory of Middle Polissia including all the localities which were resettled after the Chornobyl disaster, and those that remained at their primary location. For the first time, the attempt of preparation of factual graphic source base which differs by a significant novelty has been made. In addition, the attempt of constructing preliminary thematic maps based on the new methodological concepts for the further creation of ATCMP has also been proceeded. Generally, 13 maps, which were dedicated to a number of specific phenomena of folk calendar of spring, summer and transitional summer-autumn festivals and rituals, were constructed. The analysis of the complex of maps leads to the preliminary conclusion that there is a quite noticeable regularity of territorial delimitation or presence of so-called diffusive range of the mapped ceremonial phenomena in the interfluve of Sluch and Ubort (sometimes Horyn and Ubort rivers). Within the territory of Middle Polissia, some phenomena reflect the territorial division into the eastern and western parts of the region. Moreover, specific and relatively early variants of phenomena are usually concentrated in the western part.
