The aim of research work - development of innovative technology for the production of film packaging materials from modified thermoplastic starch. The technique of determining the content of amylose and amylopectin in thermoplastic starch of different composition based on the evaluation of amylose content by color coordinates of a starch solution using a portable spectrophotometer is worked out. The method of determination of the rheological characteristics of thermoplastic starch, based on the use of an improved double-cylinder capillary viscometer of constant costs with capillaries of an enlarged diameter, is developed. The technique of estimation of the kinematics of retrogradation of thermoplastic starch is developed for changing the mass loss and changes in the physical and mechanical properties of the polymer in time with different moisture values. The data obtained in this way can improve the formulation of thermoplastic starch to overcome the sensitivity to moisture. The innovative technologies of modification of thermoplastic starch with various additives are offered and worked out: epoxidized soybean oil, wood flour, animal fat. The introduction of such additives leads to increased mechanical, barrier properties and increased water resistance thermoplastic starch. Several methods have been worked out to combine thermoplastic starch with other natural polymers such as polycaprolactone and polylactic acid. During the study, a new modifier was developed for TPK based on the natural polymer lignin - lignosulfonate. Compositions with such additives allow improving the formulation of thermoplastic starch to overcome the resistance to high humidity. A pilot plant for thermoforming products made of thermoplastic starch has been created taking into account the technological features of the polymer. The technological modes of thermoforming of products are established. The technological regimes and parameters of orientation pulling of thermoplastic starch in the process of thermoforming are established.
