The subject of the study is the theory of modeling by the method of finite elements of the cutting process of multicomponent structures and composite materials. The report, based on the data of the literary review, addresses the issues of increasing the efficiency of processing heavy materials. A classification of constructive materials, including fibrous polymer composite materials and their constituents, has been developed, models of structures have been created at the micromechanical level, the equations and criteria of destruction for individual marks of composite materials and their constituents have been experimentally determined, experimental methods for the determination of constants of models of these materials have been developed.
