Methods of research are historiographic analysis, problematic and chronological method, comparative historical analysis and method of historiographic criticism. The scientific novelty of the study is as follows: to research understudied problems on the local level (semantic structure of the town and its influence upon the formation of Chernihiv architecture); conceptual rethink of traditional paradigms. The main idea is to show the correspondence between certain architectural monuments of the Boldyn Hills and problems connected with the preservation of cultural heritage of unique historical area. Scientific content, announced at international and all-Ukrainian conferences, and introduction of unknown documents are the results of research. Practical use of the research is as follows: to use scientific results in order to prepare resource materials (lectures, excursions), package of measures of preservation of historical area and architectural monuments of cultural heritage as a part of preservation system (accountability, architectural and technical works).
