The ways and stages of perfection of private legislation in the context of the requirement, concerning adaptation of Ukrainian private legislation to European standards are outlined. On the basis of the study of the experience of individual continental Europe countries, proposals have been developed regarding the approximation and harmonization of the private legislation of Ukraine with the private legislation of the EU states. The main provisions and conclusions of the research will be the basis for further development of the theoretical and legal provisions of the development of the private legislation of Ukraine in accordance with European standards, which will make it possible to formulate a number of proposals for the improvement of domestic private law. Materials of research work can be used while taking classes on relevant disciplines.
