The object of the study is the ecosystems of the northwestern part of the Black Sea. The goal of the research work is to define, based on an integrated approach, an informed list of marine ecosystems in the north-western part of the Black Sea that provide basic ecosystem services. Research methods - traditional methods of analytical generalization of data based on the analysis of literature sources and legislative acts of Ukraine on the establishment of protected areas and zakazniks, requirements for the extraction of seafood and support of biodiversity of marine flora and fauna were used in the research work. The results of the study included ecosystems identified in the ecological and geographic indices as the main ecosystems of the northwestern part of the Black Sea, and based on TS and cluster analysis of hydrophysical and hydrochemical indicators. A list of ecosystems of the north-western part of the Black Sea was developed and a list of the main ecosystem services that they provide, according to the international classification. The boundaries and general characteristics of marine and coastal ecosystems are defined.
