SOPHIA CATHEDRAL, DORMITION CATHEDRAL Object of research is the artistic heritage of the Lavra's artists in the first half of XIX century. Purpose of research is to discover the processes of the creation mural painting by the Lavra's artists in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra's Dormition Cathedral and in St. Sophia Cathedral. In the research scientific work for the first time: the established preconceived interpretation of the artistic heritage of the Lavra's artists in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra's Dormition Cathedral and St. Sophia Cathedral have been refuted; the historical and artistic connection of the mural paintings in the Cathedrals have been observed; the names of artists and craftsmen, who performed the mural painting decoration in the Cathedrals, have been identified; the authorship and dating, the topical and plot lines of mural paintings in the first half of XIX century in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra's Dormition Cathedral and St. Sophia Cathedral have been observed; the importance of the Lavra's artists' works (1840-1850s) in preserving the cultural heritage of sacred monuments have been observed; the names of donators and public persons, and the circumstances surrounding events have been improved. Research materials can be used for scientific research, for the catalogues, stock cards in the National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical and Cultural Preserve, and in other museums, for writing scientific research on art studies and culture studies, for experts in Art History, History, Culture History, for lecturers and students. According to the work, to discover the history of the mural painting in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra's Dormition Cathedral in the second half of XIX century can be advanced research direction.
