The ways and stages of perfection of criminal legislation in the context of requirements, concerning adaptation of Ukrainian criminal legislation to European standards are outlined. On the basis of studying the experience of individual countries of continental Europe, proposals for improving the criminal legislation of Ukraine were developed taking into account the positive experience of the EU states. The practical significance of the results obtained is that they are both scientific-theoretical and practical value.
