The purpose of the work is to improve the methodological basis for conducting a state examination (technical assessment) of documents on the basis of which an assessment of safety of electrical equipment, important for safety. Research methods - analysis of SSTC NRS experience in carrying out examination (technical evaluation) of documents on modernization and implementation of electrical equipment; analysis of current legislative and regulatory acts on nuclear and radiation safety of Ukraine, documents of the operating organization, which should be used during the examination (technical assessment). The developed Methodology is ready for the introduction into practice of SSTC NRS in order to improve the quality of the state expert assessment (technical assessment) of technical solutions for the modernization and implementation of electrical equipment at power units of nuclear power plants in Ukraine. The provisions of the Methodology may be used as additional requirements to the procedure and scope of the examination (technical assessment) of technical solutions for equipment upgrades or reports on the substantiation of nuclear safety during the operation of nuclear power plants (for example: prolongation of the lifetime of electrical equipment or after the introduction of technical solutions for modernization , reports on the substantiation of nuclear safety in the event of changes in electrical circuits equipment, the introduction of new systems, etc.).
