The purpose of the paper is to investigate the possibilities for forming carbon steels of the reinforcing components of the leveburite type in conditions of rapid temperature change during heating and cooling and the use of the phenomenon of incomplete homogenization of austenite to improve the mechanical properties of steels of various classes. The general methodological approach is the formation in the steels of initial microstructures with a special spatial distribution of the carbide phase, both in size and in form, which would contribute to the preservation by rapid heating to temperatures above the eutectic insoluble carbide phase or graphite in the environment of carbon austenite as the main condition of appearance contact (eutectic) melting. Methodical approach - the study of the effect on the steel structure of the temperature of rapid heating in the range 720-1450 oC with the use of electrocontact and laser heating methods in the velocity interval 101 - 105 K s-1.
