The objects of the cultural heritage, regardless of the forms of ownership, shall be registered by entering into the State Register of immovable monuments of Ukraine by categories of national or local significance of the monument. The objects of cultural heritage before the decision on their registration as monuments are entered in the List of objects of cultural heritage and acquire the legal status of the newly discovered objects of cultural heritage. Lists of objects of cultural heritage are approved by the decisions of regional bodies of protection of cultural heritage. The procedure for recording objects of cultural heritage is determined by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine. The study of the antiquities of the Lviv region is closely linked with the activity of the National Archaeological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. One of the priority tasks in its activity is the detection and registration of archeological objects. The Center, together with the Department of Protection of the Cultural Heritage of Lviv Oblast State Administration, is a co-developer and principal executor of the pilot project for the complete archaeological survey of the territory of the region "Archaeological Cadastre of Ukraine. Lviv Oblast". Within the framework of the project over 2008-2017 over 1,600 km2 of territory was surveyed and more than 1,800 new archaeological sites were localized. On the 200 newly discovered objects of cultural heritage, which were introduced by order of the Department of Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Lviv Regional State Administration № 05 dated March 23, 2012, sets of accounting documentation (registration card, short historical certificate, technical status certificate with photophixation of the modern type of monuments) were made. to the List of Cultural Heritage Objects. All newly discovered objects of cultural heritage, on which the accounting documentation is made, may be entered in the Register according to the category of monuments of local significance.
