It was established that the indicators of the general morbidity and prevalence of pathological conditions among children affected by the Chernobyl catastrophe, who live in the territory of Ivankovsky and Polessky districts, are significantly higher than the oblast data. The heterogeneity of iodine content in local food products and in the northern regions, inconsistency of iodine deficiency pathology with iodine deficiency, presence in the territory of Ukraine of areas with an unusually high content of this microelement in the environment (in particular, Tarutinsky district of the Odessa region) was determined. The recipes of food products have been developed, which, due to the enrichment of seaweed and sodium alginate, have radioactive properties and can be used to prevent the shortage of trace elements. The results of the work have been implemented in the activity of the National University of Food Technologies, Bogomolets National Medical University, State Institution "National Research Center for Radiation Medicine of National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine", State institution "Ukrainian Specialized Dispensary of Radiation Protection of the Population of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine".Can be used in treatment and prevention institutions.
