Purpose of the research - study and scientific substantiation of the criteria of significance of the accelerated method for assessing the safety of goods, merchandise (products) for children with a view of improving control systems of their manufacturing and marketing. Methods of the research - data-analytical, hygienic, sociological, laboratory, mathematical and statistical. The peculiarities of the organization of control over safety of toys, textile and knitwear in the country and abroad were determined. The actual duration of the contact of children with toys has been established, depending on their age and conditions of education at home or in the pre-school institution. Reference values of the integral parameters of children's body were developed. Duration of direct contact with the skin of each layer of clothing during the day was established also with reference to the age of children. The dependency of the integral toxicity index on the percentage of embedding of fibers of different origins was established, which allowed to develop and approve amendments to the State Sanitary rules and standards. For the first time, a riskometric approach was used to integrate the assessment of clothing safety, depending on the area, duration of direct contact with the skin, age characteristics of the child's body, which allowed to propose and approve the safety index and the hygienic classification of textile and knitted products. Methodological approaches for determining the integral index of toxicity by the in vitro method for clothing and childcare facilities for children under the age of 3 years old have been worked out in the laboratory environment. The dependence of the integral index of toxicity on the quantitative characteristics of the content of chemical compounds and their migration levels has been proved, which allowed to develop a patent for the utility model and methodical recommendations for an accelerated method for assessing the safety of good, merchandise (products) for children.
