The basis of the developed method lies in the allocation of the spectral distribution of the conversion electrons of the gadolinium converter from the mixed gamma of the electron flux. This distribution is obtained by using a two-channel detector system based on silicon planar, non-cooled detectors with a thickness of 300 ?m. As a result of work on the current contract: - a block diagram was developed and a layout of a small-sized dual-channel spectrometric detection system for the registration of thermal neutrons based on silicon planar non-cooled detectors with a size of a working area of ??5x5 mm2 and converters made of metallic gadolinium; - the modeling of a small-scale dual-channel spectrometric detection system made it possible to improve the energy resolution to 1.8 keV in comparison with the previously created model of a two-detector module is an experimentally measured spectral distribution of conversion electrons from a metallic gadolinium converter; - a method for measuring the density of the flow of thermal neutrons was developed using the model of a small-size dual-channel spectrometric detection system based on measuring the density of the flow of conversion electrons; - The technique can be applied in nuclear physics and medical applications, for example, in neutron capture therapy.
