Main tasks: 1. To carry out a comprehensive analysis of elements of land-based ecosystems, in particular processes of bioaccumulation of heavy metals, micro-and macro-elements, their transfer to soils and bottom sediments. 2. Conduct a comprehensive analysis of bottom sediments. 3. To conduct analysis of biodiversity of benthic ecosystems using morphometric and molecular genetic methods. 4. To conduct a three-dimensional reconstruction of the relief of the bottom of the straits of Mijk and Penol by the results of acoustic surveys of the waters of the Argentine Islands. 5. To complement the three-dimensional GIS model of the Argentine Islands with the new "Primitive Soil Soils" and "Donnies of the Argentine Islands" by the results of a comprehensive analysis of elements of land-based ecosystems and bottom sediments. 6. To substantiate the creation of a new biogeographic site in accordance with the Protocol on Environmental Protection to the Antarctic Treaty. Main results of the work: 1. Three-dimensional GIS-model of the Argentine Islands with information layers - "Primitive soils of the land" and "Donnye deposition of the Argentine islands". 2. Three-dimensional GIS models of the shelf of the islands near the Antarctic station "Academician Vernadsky", built on the results of acoustic surveys. 3. Databases of underground soils, biodiversity and genetic barcoding: image, coordinates and chemical composition of soils; the image of the plots of the bottom at different depths, the data of the morphometric analysis of benthos organisms; images of voucher instances of benthic invertebrates, nucleotide sequences of the mitochondrial COP gene. 4.
