The purpose of the research is the formation of the repertoire of the Ukrainian press, which involves the establishment and fixation of the main bibliographic markers, a detailed study of the Ukrainian media landscape on the range of publishing. Methods of research: historical and genetic, historical-chronological and historical-comparative methods for the characterization of the communication environment of the first quarter of the twentieth century, identification of the information continuum; structural-functional, which enabled to trace changes in the strategic configuration of the Ukrainian press, as well as structural-typological), bibliographic, descriptive, cluster, biographical methods. The results of research (19 scientific articles) were published in Library's journals, journal " Obraz", published (22 reports) at scientific conferences (Lviv, Kyiv, Odessa, Wroclaw, Poland). In the media, 21 scientific popular articles were published on the theme of the study, comments were given to "Historical truth ". A frontal examination of information focused on historical and bibliographic essays of Ukrainian-language, bilingual and foreign-language periodicals of 1918-1919, which will be included in the regular volumes 6 (almost 700 titles) and 7 (almost 800 titles) of the edition "Ukrainian Press in Ukraine and the world of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. " To these volumes 204 periodicals were identified and worked out, respectively, 204 complete historical and bibliographic descriptions have been created. The database "Ukrainian Journalism in Persons" is replenished with more than 600 biographies, has added 653 biographies to the new biographical information. A working bibliography of biobibliography has been prepared in the Western Ukrainian press, which generally contains over 6730 entries. The third volume of multi-volume work by K. Kurilyshyn "Biographical materials on pages of the newspaper" Dilo "(Lviv, 1880-1939) was published. All the processes of preparing a publication for publication - scientific and literary editing, double proofreading, commissioning of scientific reference apparatus, and the production of an original layout - were carried out by scientists of the Institute. The 6th volume of the national bibliography was completed as well as the conclusion of the 7th volume (part of the "Ukrainian-language press" in 1919).
