The subject of research is artistic collections and collections of the 19th-20th centuries. Objective - Creation of a special documentary source base on the history of the collection of Ukrainian and foreign art of the 19th and 20th centuries based on the artistic holdings of Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine in Lviv at the regional level and its introduction into the scientific circulation through their publication in the form of scientific descriptions, bibliographic and source studies. Methods of research - historical and cultural, systematic, chronological, iconographic and stylistic analysis. At the first stage of the reserach which was held under the slogan "Art Collections: Reconstruction of Experiences in the Area of the Arts Heritage", which was exploratory, retrospective artistic collections among graphics, philately, posters, music and photo documents were identified and described. In the area of fine arts, work was done on the scientific processing of graphic works from the collection of Vladimir Vitruk (1700 units), posters (2500 units); medalierics (60 units), reproductions (2500 units), philately (7200 units), and phallemic (60 units). A catalog of exlibrises "Ukrainian Bookmarks of the 19th and 20th Centuries" from the collection of S. Davymuka has been prepared for publication. In the area of exhibition-exposition activity, the visual materials from retrospective collections of Yu. Pavlikovsky (141 units), M. Goldstein (30 units) and Ossolineum (28 units) were selected and exhibited Lviv museums. Two thematic exhibitions of fine art materials were organized and conducted: graphic works on Ukrainian themes from the collection of the Lyubomyrsky's Museum and "The Austrian Baroque Masters" (from the collection of the Austrian Major Karl Kinl). The work was carried out on catalogs: "Research and exhibition activity of Institute for the Study of Library Art Resources: materials for history", "Ukrainian diaspora in phalerism (on the holdings of Institute for the Study of Library Art Resources materials)", "Ukrainian poster of 1940-1999 in the Institute for the Study of Library Art Resources". In the area of musical art, musical works from retrospective collections of the "Institute of Church Music in Lviv", "Shevchenko Scientific Society in Lviv" are identified; the manuscripts of the works of the Ukrainian composer Y.Lopatinsky from the collection "Lviv Conservatory" (F.163, Manuscripts) were worked out. A collection of selected articles on the scientific and musical-journalistic heritage of V. Goshovsky (on materials of the personal music library) has been published. In the holdings of photo-documents 7000 units were processed (at the stage of inventory). The regular annual research conference "Art Culture: History, Theory, Methodology" was organized and held (Lviv, November 24, 2017) which was attended by 56 speakers; conference theses published.
