The object of the research is structural changes in the country's energy sector in the context of the formation and realization of the possibilities for its modernization. Methods of research - theoretical generalization, axiomatic, analysis, synthesis, classification, formalization and modeling, cluster analysis, scenario approach. In the scientific work the development tendencies and structural changes in the national economy and in the energy sector of Ukraine are analyzed; foresight forecasts of technological development of the world and national energy are generalized; tendencies in the structural and technological development of national energy and global trends are compared; prospective directions of structural transformations in the national energy sector are identified; current status and identification of the possibilities for the development of the branches of technical and technological support for the modernization of the national energy industry are estimated; directions of structural and technological modernization of the country's energy sector based on the development of national branches of its technical and technological support are justified. Methodical approaches to determine the directions of structural transformations in the country's energy sector and to assess the possibilities of technical and technological support for the structural modernization of the national energy sector have been developed. A set of theoretical basis and methodological approaches to the structural and technological modernization of the country's energy sector based on the definition of its priorities, taking into account the capabilities of domestic technological support, is proposed.
