According to the results of studies in the scope of its components following areas were covered: - hydrobiological, ichthyological, hydrochemical, toxicological and radioecological studies on indicators that characterize the state of aquatic biological resources and conditions for their formation were conducted; - productivity of aquatic ecosystems, biology of valuable fish species, promising for introduction, acclimatization and improvement of the qualitative composition of ichthyofauna and fish productivity of natural reservoirs was evaluated; - processes of formation of biological resource potential of reservoirs of the Dnipro region in the conditions of the increased of anthropogenic influence on the environment, including use, consumption, reproduction, formation of internal reserves for improving the efficiency of fish farming were studied; - actual data on certain industrial water bioresources of the Dnipro region reservoirs was collected; - assessment of bioproduction of fish with consideration of the recreational potential of ecotopes, quality of the water environment, opportunities for aquaculture development, as well as existing improved strategy for the development of the institutional environment and agricultural sector institutions in the context of sustainable development was performed; - evaluation of the possibility of economic provision for sustainable development of regional fisheries was conducted; - preliminary strategy of economic support of sustainable use of water bioresources in the Dnipro region was developed; - preliminary strategy for introducing advanced biotechnologies for the production of fish products was developed.
