The purpose of the work is analyze of the species composition and life state in artificial and natural wood phytocoenoses of the Ukrainian Steppe. Methods of research - standard methods of field and laboratory morphological and physiological research, spectrophotometric methods, inventory, taxonomic, taxation methods, route method, methods of analysis, observation, synthesis, statistical processing of results. The species composition and life state of artificial and natural wood phytocoenoses of the Steppe of Ukraine are analyzed. The survey was carried out on the cenopopulation of the gully forest, protective prominent forest bands, urban green plantations, dendrophilic entomophauna of the Central Prydniprovie forests. It is established that against the background of disturbance of the normal turnover of generations in the populations of the main edifiers in gully forests occur a gradual process of phytocoenosis formation involving the most shade-tolerant species-assectants. It is revealed that the species composition of woody plants in highland forest is very poor, but their living conditions are generally satisfactory. The dependence of the morpho-functional parameters of tree plants on the level of pollution of the environment by industrial and automobile emissions is established. On the basis of a retrospective analysis of outbreaks of the highest diversity of Lepidoptera, Macroheterocera the most dangerous types of dendrophilic entomophaunes were identified, flares of which are observed with a stable periodicity several times every ten years.
