Consumer chemistry has become a phenomenon of everyday life, with which adults and children are constantly confronted. Therefore, the main goal of the research is to develop a methodology for the formation of health-saving competence aimed at adaptation and socialization without the excess alarmism and chemophobia of a young person in the world of chemicals and materials from which toys, products, cosmetics, household items, clothing, etc. are made. The analysis of the theory of the formation and development of models for the formation of a healthy lifestyle has been made and the directions of the activity of pedagogical education in the formation of health-saving competence, ecological literacy and a healthy life of a person have been determined. A methodical system for the formation of concepts of applied chemistry in the lessons and optional classes in the chemistry of the basic school was developed. The curriculum of the optional session "Consumer Chemistry" has been prepared. The certificate program "Chemistry around Us" has been prepared and approved by the Academic Council of the University as an additional educational service for students and teachers of chemistry. A university lecture school for schoolchildren about the storage of meat products (poultry) in industry and the use of antioxidants, preservatives and food additives for these purposes was put into operation. A laboratory workshop for secondary school students on sewage treatment and post-treatment of drinking water, analysis of nitrates, heavy metal ions in vegetables, fruits and meat products was put into operation.
