Peretyatko, Registration Date 11-09-2018 Organization State Esteblishment "Mechnikov Institute of Microbiology and Immunology of Ukrainian Academy of Medical Sciences" popup.description2 Report: 105 p., 4 tables, 41 figures, 1 supplement, 107 sources.Object of research: 80 clinical strains of enterococci isolated from different ecotops from patients with purulent inflammatory diseases, 23 strains of enterococci isolated from the intestines of healthy people, strain E. faecalis ATCC 29212. Purpose: to improve the methods of treatment of enterococcal infections by developing new means and systems for the efficient transfer of anti-enterococcal antibiotics through the extracellular matrix of biofilm and the destruction of biofilms. Methods of research: microbiological, statistical. A comparative analysis of microorganisms biofilm formation research methods has been carried out, optimal conditions for modeling enterococci biofilms have been determined, ability to form biofilms of enterococci isolated from different ecotops has been studied. For enterococci strains with a high degree of biofilm formation, effects of aminocapronic acid, polyethylenglycol-400, ampicillin, gentamicin in various concentrations and their combinations on biofilm formation and on formed biofilms have been studied. An inhibitory effect of aminocapronic acid at concentrations of 7.5%, 10.0% and 15.0%, gentamicin at concentrations of 8 mcg / ml, 16 mcg / ml, 32 mcg / ml, 64 mcg / ml, ampicillin in concentrations of 0.5 mcg / ml, 1.0 mcg / ml on enterococci biofilm formation has been studied. The enhancement effect of polyethylenglycol-400 in concentrations of 0.5% and 1.0% on the enterococci biofilm formation processes has been identified. Optimal concentrations of aminocapronic acid and polyethylenglycol-400 which enhanced the antibiotic effect of gentamicin and ampicillin have been defined. The results of the research are presented in the form of 23 publications, including 6 articles, 1 patent for utility model, 1 application for utility model, 2 industry innovations, 2 technologies.
